Low Fat Hummus
I was introduced to hummus when I was 11 years old. At the time, my father had become obsessed with Greek dips, and when we would go to the shop he would buy the four pack with tzatziki, taramasalata, hummus and olive tapenade. He would heat up flat breads and my sister and I would eat them with these dips. It was truly such a delight… and certainly one which has held me emotionally hostage from quitting flat breads and dips ever since!!!
What I’ve realised on this health journey, is that you have to find ways of satisfying the parts of you that are emotionally attached to certain foods, whilst keeping you on track with your intended goals. This is one such recipe that I’m delighted to share!
Usually, hummus is loaded with olive oil and tahini, both of which add a lot of fat to the dip equation. This version is free of olive oil and tahini, but still tastes absolutely BANG ON with the seasonings.
Give it a go and let me know what you think! Serve this with fresh chopped raw veggies or some some home made Potato Flat Bread!
