Bircher Muesli

Over the years, I’ve had several clients complain to me about how bored they get having fruit first thing in the morning. I totally understand. I went through this myself for years on end. This monotony and frustration it can cause is real, and sometimes, having less stress around the matter is actually a better outcome… which is why we have to find solutions in a balanced, yet healthful way.

It can be challenging when we’ve been used to having everything on the menu to contain ourselves for breakfasts to fruits and fruits alone. I have had to find ways of helping people stay on track with their goals, whilst still satisfying their tastebuds and souls! This was one such recipe I designed to do this.

I have suggestions in the recipe card about how best to enjoy this breakfast. Please remember though, it is an INDULGENT breakfast on the detox journey. It has its place, but be mindful not to overdo it! I usually recommend having this twice a week to break up the monotony of only fruits. I find this works quite well for most! Always start your breakfast with a small portion of fruit, maybe some paw paw or apples, then have the bircher as a “breakfast dessert”. Having this with fruit first will keep the system more balanced, and negate some of the acidic effects of the oats meal.
