Magical Fruit Bowl

This recipe is the FOUNDATION of healing and energy. When I first started my journey, I ate this meal EVERY SINGLE DAY for about 3 years straight. It is by far the best way to stimulate liver cleansing, and if you’re constipated - well, all I can say is - be ready for this one! The instantaneous lift in energy and movement with this meal is quite astonishing.

If you’d like to use other fruits, I recommend sticking to the grated apple as the base (as this is the key to the liver detox), bananas (if you can eat them) and then other sweet fruits, berries, or sub acid fruits! Citrus fruits or any fruits that are quite acidic (kiwi fruits, pineapple etc) can sometimes upset the stomach in combination with the sweet fruits (especially if you’re sensitive). I’d also suggest eating any melons separately FIRST and then having this meal afterwards, as melons tend to digest a little faster than other fruits, and if you have digestive upset, this may aggravate it!

Grating the apple MAKES A DIFFERENCE! It may seem odd, but grating the apple actually makes it easier to eat and digest, especially when you’re first detoxing. If you make a batch and keep it in the fridge for a few days, it might go a bit brown, but this is actually OK and desirable for digestion - so load up! Once you’ve made a batch, you can have a few days worth ready to go, making this a quick and easy breakfast option.

I cannot take credit for this recipe, it is actually my naturopath’s recipe… an incredible woman who has taught me how to be well, and has held my hand through thick and thin as I’ve gone through what has been a very challenging detox journey. It took a lot of faith and trust in her at the start (eating so much fruit just seemed wrong after having the body building and fitness experience), but after hearing her own healing story and spending time with her, I just knew I had found what I was looking for.
