Buffalo Cauliflower “Wings”
I have tried a few different varieties of plant based “wings” over the years. I have tried coating them with seeds mixtures, nut mixtures, I’ve tried the dehydrated ones, I’ve put them with “ranch” dressing, you name it, I’ve tried it. Since I do not like the high fat content of the nuts and seeds, I had to put my thinking cap on to work out exactly how I could make a delicious wing, without fat, but still have it taste unctuous, savoury and delicious - like the real thing!
Randomly, I had some spare cauliflower in the fridge and thought I’d just try out a recipe this week, and low and behold, I have found the answer to wings! FINALLY! These were so good, Troy was upset that we didn’t have more of them. The secret is in the batter and the special tomato-free GLAZE!
I recommend serving these with a large side salad because I did find they were a little bit drying because of how heavily cooked they are. However, if you are really, REALLY craving a wing, this is the wing for you! They are low fat, spicy, savoury, silky, crunchy, and moreish! Try them on the weekend as a snack or a meal with a large salad while you’re watching a movie! You’ll be so thrilled with these!
