Red Velvet Hummus

I have always been a fan of hummus, but this one for some reason just elevates the entire hummus experience! The colour is just divine, the flavour - yum! I created this dip for the Turkish Style Meze Platter and it delivered! Make a batch and have it in the fridge for when you want a little snack! Serve with raw veggies, crackers or flat bread! Keeps in the fridge for 3-4 days!

In this recipe I have suggested using organic canned chickpeas. I realise that the dried chickpeas are a healthier option as they have not been kept in the metal can and pre-cooked, however, for MOST people getting healthier needs to be convenient or it gets tossed in the bin. If cooking chickpeas is going to take you hours and create a barrier to making it yourself, I’d much rather you make this version than by the one from the shops.

If you have a particular sensitivity, you find the canned ones don’t sit right, or you just prefer to make them yourself, absolutely go for it!
