Turkish Style Meze Platter
The other day my father was telling me about this glorious Turkish meal he had with some friends. It put a fire under my butt to create this one, because I’ve been thinking about doing it for SO LONG! I’m so glad I did - it was truly epic.
This one brings together a number of recipes including: Oil-free babaganoush, Harissa Spiced Pumpkin Dip, Red Velvet Hummus, “Semi-Dried” tomatoes and the incredible Potato Flat Bread!!! There is some labour involved in bringing this together, but I’m telling you, it was WELL worth it!
Something I used to CRAVE for many years was the feeling of going out with friends for bread & dips with a glass of wine on a Sunday. What I realised I was actually craving was the comfort and friendships from that time in my life, and in a way, trying to fill the void with that food. Discovering where these feelings come from has been a freeing experience and has helped me move through the phases of my life with gratitude and appreciation, rather than a sense of lack and loss. If you’ve ever felt like this, I hope this recipe does the same for you!
And besides, who doesn’t love a good bread and dip? It’s DELICIOUS! And this platter brings all of these little goodies together into a sensationally filling, healthy, energising meal!
Feel free to just make one or two of the dips if you’d like to save some time, or have the dips ready on the previous day so you can just make the flat bread and go! There are so many ways you can structure this creation to fit your schedule! But certainly, if you are having a party or friends over - this one will wow their pants off! I guarantee!
